I've only just found Dancing Brave, but I must say that I have long been a huge fan of the fug.

I went through roughly the same thing that you are about to begin with your Ponies, however my eighties toy of choice were Flower Fairies.
And I didn't still have any of mine, so I went on an e-bay binge until I remembered I was thirty and had no place in my life for sentimental plastic. The dolls, and even the very special fairy carry-case, went to a lovely little girl called Polly.

Finally, I am so glad you have that book. Joan's beauty and clothing tips are breath taking, no? Have you also got "My Friend's Secrets"? If not, you have to find it. It is comedy gold, whilst containing the odd top tip.

My sister (coincidentally named Megan and also a reader of this blog) was a huge fan of the Ponies and would wake me up early on Saturdays to play with them, so I'm sure your Pony diary will bring back fun memories for us both. Sundance was the pony that started the series - Megan and Sundance were the main subjects of the cartoon show, too, I think. I'm sure that doesn't help you remember the characteristics you ascribed to your Sundance, but I thought I'd share.

OMG! I totally had that pony. My aunt got it for me, because my name is Megan and there is NOTHING cooler to littler girls than sharing your name with a doll. FYI, the pony's name is Sundance because her mane/tail change colors in the sun to... white and/or purple, maybe? I don't really remember. Take her outside and see if she still works!

I also totally had this pony. I think that my sister (whose name is Megan) and I probably lost her leg warmers not long after getting her, though, because I do not remember them. Mores the pity. My Little Ponies were my absolute favorite. I swung Barbie around by her hair, because I hated her, but all my Little Ponies were CHERISHED.

Dawn

I love it! I only had a few ponies which were tossed to Goodwill long ago, but I always wanted more...

Tamara

I can't wait for the rest of these entries. I had a whole stable full of the ponies and my mom gave them all away when I went to college, I was too embarrassed to be publicly upset about, but I was totally sad on the inside. hee.

This is so going to make me cry. (Discreetly, of course.) There is a similar box in the attic over my parents' garage.

Brianne

I love this idea. I sold the majority of my childhood toys including my literal stable of ponies on ebay in order to finance being unemployed right after grad school.

But I kept my first three: Blossom, Cotton Candy, and Minty. It's hard to believe they're 25 years old now.

Heather

Those were my first three, too, but in a different order! Love it.

Sara

Oh yeah, I rocked the Sundance/Megan combo. I remember Megan had a little flowered dress that I wanted in my size SO MUCH. I also wanted my barbie's paisley shirt and striped legwarmers, though. So my fashion sense might not have been unflawed.

I also played with ponies, and loved the cotton candy one the best. recently I stumbled across the attached link, and thought maybe you could ship them all off to this lady??

It's fantastically tragic.

I have a 3 year old who LOVES these ponies- I say hold on to them. My mum held on to all my old hand made barbie clothes and I get a huge kick out of watching my daughter dress her barbies in my old creations.

If you were a little girl in the 80's then you loved My Little Pony. I will gladly take your unwanted ponies and anyone elses. email me at Pinkerton1971@optonline.net.
No, I am not kidding.
